He married Emilie "Millie" McGrady, daughter of Calvin MCGRADY & Martha, last name unk., Aug. 4, 1876, in Alleghany Co., NC. She was born May 16, 1862, in Wilkes or Alleghany Co., NC, and died Feb. 12, 1950. John and Emilie Edwards are buried at the Pleasant Home Union Baptist Church on Road 1412, Alleghany Co., NC.
