William Jennings, son of Martin JENNINGS & Frances TOLIVER, was born Sept. 17, 1857, in Ashe Co., NC, and died July 28, 1928, in Alleghany Co., NC. He married Christina "Tina" Duncan, daughter of Franklin DUNCAN & Senia WOLFE, Nov. 8, 1876, in Alleghany Co., NC. She was born Sept. 22, 1857, in Ashe Co., NC, and died Sept. 15, 1930, in Harford Co., MD. William and Tina Jennings are buried at the Pleasant Home Union Baptist Church, Road 1112 in Alleghany Co., NC.

Notes

William Jennings owned and operated a general store in the Vox community of Alleghany Co., across the street from the Pleasant Home Baptist Church. The first post office for Vox was established in his store in 1900 and he was the first postmaster. (The post office was discontinued in 1932). William was also a carpenter and farmer.
